"So this is a pretty crazy story.....
My house was in bad shape, like REALLY bad shape. Being a single man who is not particularly handy, there were many things wrong with the house that I was not even aware of. The electrical wiring, originally do… ne in the 70s, had not magically improved during the time that I owned it; and the foundation was starting to sink, resulting in the side of my house looking like it had suffered through a minor earthquake.
Career-wise, I was in a position where I no longer needed to live in that home. In fact, I was already moved out of it, so at this point it was just costing me money every month for no reason. I had worked with Michelle before and I remember appreciating how helpful and not-pushy she was, so I gave her a call to talk about what my options were.
Michelle came and took a look at the house, talked me through my options and helped me to estimate the costs of each option, whether that was fixing the house up and trying to put it on the market, or finding a buyer off-market. It was clear that her only goal was to help me sell the house in the way that would benefit me the most, regardless of how it affected her commission.
This is where it gets crazy. Because of the extensive contacts that Michelle has in the real estate business, she helped me sell my house in 1 week. I am not a real estate expert but I know that in this market that is absolutely insane. I don't mean she helped me sell it at investor prices either, the house was sold off-market to an individual who happened to be looking for a less expensive home. I got at least 40 thousand dollars more than I would have if I had called one of those investors who always say they will buy your house as is, and again this was done in literally 1 week.
I didn't have enough equity in the house to be able to sell it for what an investor would have paid me without taking a huge financial loss. Michelle literally saved me from a financial disaster because of her extensive experience and her contacts in the DFW/Frisco/Mckinney area. I should add that throughout the whole experience, she was extremely communicative. I don't think I ever called or texted her without getting a call or text back within 5 minutes.
